Waiting...Believing...Enjoying...

I am known to God!  You are known to God!  Fully, completely, perfectly and passionately known!!!  Does that excite you, encourage you...or does it make you a wee bit nervous? J

You are holy, chosen and dearly loved by God!  Don’t allow the evil one to rob any of your joy, any of your peace, any of your reception of those truths just because there is stuff within you needing work or in need of complete removal!

Wait on God to work!

Seek His face, sit at His feet, lean into His heart and then wait on Him for your next move.  Sometimes sitting back and waiting is being passive.  Sometimes it is being obedient.  Waiting takes discipline and self-denial! 

We want to move our own agenda along...NOW.  We want our imperfections perfected...NOW.  Waiting is much more difficult.  But the obedience to wait on God’s perfect timing will reap a harvest more abundant in due time.  It is His work, not ours.

Latch onto faith!

Believe all His capabilities are available for you! 

Believe all His goodness is zeroed in on you!

Believe His purposes for your life are grander than you imagine!

Believe God!

Believe Big!

Enjoy the ride!

Ride the twists and turns holding on tight.  Enjoy the ride because it will end all too soon.  You don’t want to have missed the experience once the ride is all over.  Unlike the roller coaster at the fair, you don’t get another turn.  Everyone gets just one.  There is no going back to enjoy what we were fearful over and unsure of.  

We know how the ride ends.  It’s good.  So enjoy the ride you’re on!

Stay faithful.

Be obedient.

Trust God.

And enjoy the ride!

Fun Family Easter Activities to Help Us Focus

There are several ways we can spend Passion Week reflecting on Jesus, the cross and the tomb that could not hold Him!

Here are just a few hands-on activities that our family has either done in the past or will be doing this year.

Resurrection Buns -- Cinnamon bun-like that is hollow in the center, like the tomb.

Resurrection Cookies -- Cookies that are left in the oven overnight and are also found to be hollow inside when they are broken into Easter morning. Differenct scriptures are read as each ingredient is added.

Resurrection Eggs -- Various items are chosen to fill 12 plastic, colored eggs that have to do with different aspects of the Holy Week--from when Jesus entered Jerusalem until He rose from the dead.

Resurrection Eggs for an Egg Hunt or for a Sunday School Class Discussion -- Same type of idea as above except there are 22 eggs with items and a verse description also included. Eggs are marked and hidden either outside or in a room. The children gather the eggs and take turns opening them up and sharing what's inside.

Create an Easter Garden -- A beautfiul, reflective touch of creation.

Make an Easter Tree -- Lovely artwork from creation through Jesus' appearance before His disciples. These are printed out and hung on a "tree" made from branches with the corresponding scripture reads and reflective thoughts also offered.

WOW! A God Honoring Movie -- "Fireproof"

Hubby and I went to see this on Saturday. Not only was it an entertaining movie with a strong message, but its message is God honoring. (You will need to pause the music on my sidebar before playing the video trailer).



I emphatically encourage you to grab your spouse and go as soon as possible. We all know how the movie industry works. The higher the attendance when the movie first comes out, the longer its stay at the theatres. In this instance, the higher number of attendees in this first week out could increase the number that see it altogether and are mightily impacted in their marriages, families and...prayerfully...in their hearts.

This movie could have a HUGE impact in bringing lost, hurting people to Christ.

This movie could have a HUGE impact in bringing restoration to the lives and marriages of many who are already believers in Christ Jesus.

So grab your honey, some money for tickets and popcorn and enjoy a night out just the two of you. A night out with Godly entertainment with a powerful message. Then, like us, consider taking your older children to it as well. It's that good! And we want to support organizations like this to encourage more productions like this one.

Part of My "Clan"

Here's a picture of my kiddos with Grandpa and Auntie on the day of the Scottish Highland Games. Don't they look just marvelous! Nate's shirt has a little scotty dog on it and says "I'm so cute I must be Scottish!" The little girls have scotty dogs on their shirts and skirts as well. Never thought I'd see my guys in skirts--I mean kilts--but they do look rather manly, don't they! Especially when you factor in the swords and knives they were carrying.

Sand, Surf and...Fog?

You would think with temperatures in the upper 90's at home that we would find some sun during our trip to the beach...nope! It was cool and foggy, but we still had fun. How can you not have fun at the ocean?

Nate just loves to be with "the guys" as he calls his big brothers. :) They are so good about letting him in on their fun--except when he is a hindrance. But they are working on patience and forbearance in these situations. Here they are digging a hole to bury Jacob in.

The burying is almost complete. When the girls saw what was going on, they of course wanted to be in on the action. Nate kept trying to bury Jacob's head by throwing sand on his face. :) Poor Jacob--he was such a good sport about it all. The extra little cutie in the picture is my niece.

Bucket (or is that Barrel) of Fun

I will never cease to be amazed at all the adventures that children can have with the simplest of items. This is a bucket that I purchased to store extra grain. They played with this bucket off and on for 5 days until I finally washed it up for service. Jacob (11) and Nate (1) had the most fun and came up with the most unusual ways of enjoying the thing. Nate loved it whenever someone put the bucket on his head. You could hear the echoing laughter from underneath as he wandered about the room bumping into couches, chairs, dog, bodies, etc. He got to laughing so hard, he'd fall down. We could still hear him giggling underneath. And I have absolutely NO idea how Jacob got his legs doubled up in it even after watching him do it! I almost hated taking it away from them, but the wheat berries had to go somewhere... :)
