Falling Short—Addendum

This is more of what I received in my conversations with God after Falling Short at Christmas this year.

“For unto YOU is born this day in the city of David, YOUR Savior who is Christ the Lord.”

A Savior (because I can't DO IT on my own!)...Humble, selfless, generous—all He wants for us.  All we wish we were.

It starts with desire to follow Jesus’ example.  To give of our self, our stuff, our words, our heart, our love without any desire or hope of receiving any thing back in return.

Sometimes I wonder if that is even possible in me.  How do I get there?

One gracious act at a time—given, hands-off, cheerfully.
Laying down each & every expectation for return at His feet.

We have to fight through the garbage of selfishness and regret to get to where He wants to see us go.

Go on a mission to love with no hope of receiving any thing in return!
Lay all desire at His feet and love unconditionally and purposefully!
Taste and see that He is good and He. is. enough!

My service is my sacrifice to Him.  I am learning to not let what I do be for others, but for love of Him.

“...present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”  Romans 12:1

Doing all for the glory of God—not for glory received unto me.

If I don’t go looking to receive, blessings from Him will surprise me!

And my let-down after Christmas(some of you have this same problem...I’m so sorry!)

From my prayer journal...

“Sacrifice your wants from others—expectations, attitudes over Advent, whatever.  Give up what you want, what bothers you.  Give Jesus-in-you to everyone you meet—at Christmas and every other day as well.  You want what you can’t have, so give what you can.  Want me—to please Me—above all else!”
