Let Your Heart Be Light

The songs words sing...

“Have yourself a merry little Christmas.  Let your heart be light.  From now on our troubles will be out of sight.”

Really?!

That ain’t gonna happen folks—not in this world anyway, by singing them away.

But our hearts truly can be lightened.  Not only at Christmastime, but every day and every turn of the page of every chapter of our story.

Allow the weight of sin and self condemnation to be lifted. (Hebrews 12:1)

Jesus came that we may have life abundant. (John 10:10)

Don’t allow the weights of the world to rob you of your inheritance!  (Romans 8:17)

Live in joy out of the joy of the Lord.  (Nehemiah 8:10)

Let His living waters rush over you in every corner of your heart and mind.  (John 4:14)

Lean not on your own understanding and short-sighted perceptions.  (Proverbs 3:5)

Believe Him—Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!  (Acts 16:31)

Believe all His promises and goodness is available—stretched out, open-handed—to you!  (2 Peter 1:3, 4)

Others may turn to the world’s way of doing things.  (Jeremiah 15:19)

But stay strong in the Lord, strengthened by His might.  (Ephesians 6:10)

Seek first the Kingdom of God and trust that your needs will be met.  (Matthew 6:33)

Just believe!

This Christmas—believe...

You are loved, wanted, desired, needed, necessary, salvageable...crucial...created for great purposes of which you can have no understanding!

Believe He wants you as His child and as His friend.

Walk hand in hand with Him as you together turn the page and begin the next chapter.

“For unto YOU is born this day in the city of David, YOUR Savior—Christ the Lord!”
