Cheesy Italian Herb Bread

This is sooooo yummy!

Everyone in the family loves this one and devours it as soon as it is cool enough to eat without burning the tongue!  I usually make one pan to accompany bought or homemade pizza—two pans for a late morning or afternoon snack.  And this really helps fill up those teenaged boy bellies...
{as well as little girl bellies that sometimes come out of no where’s!}

Bread:
2 ½-3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
¾ T yeast
1 cup warm water
1 T cooking oil

Topping:
1/3 cup Italian salad dressing
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp thyme
A dash or pepper

1 ¼-1 ½ cups of cheese—I use a combination of parmesan and mozzarella...romano too if I have some.

Combine the warm water with the yeast and add oil.  In a mixing bowl, mix the remaining ingredients.  Add the liquids to the dry to form a soft dough.  I set my dough mixer for 1-2 minutes or you can turn it onto a floured surface and knead for a couple minutes until smooth.  Place in a greased bowl and allow it to rise for about 20 minutes in a warm place.  Place the dough on a buttered 12’ pizza pan and spread out to the sides.  Combine all of the topping ingredients, except the cheese.  Spread on top of the dough.  Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake at 450 degrees for approximately 12-15 minutes—or until a nice golden brown.  Serve warm alone or with a side of pizza sauce.
