We are in the book of Ezekiel and today the background, the historical context is set. We will get an overview of the book of Ezekiel and then look specifically at some verses in chapter 14 and then 7:3-4, 7-9.
"Son of man (Ezekiel), if a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it and cut off from it both man and beast, even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves," declares the Lord God." Ezekiel 14:13, 14
God's judgment is to deliver us from ourselves -- from our wrong thinking -- from the sins that have taken us captive so that "(we) will know that (He) is the Lord" (7:4)
Precept for Life: God judges us according to our ways and with a purpose.
